A large number of cosmetic ingredients are used to decrease or increase the viscosity of finished cosmetic products. They may be significant for a product's stability, texture and consumer acceptance. In order to define the specific function performed by these ingredients more precisely, they have been divided into three groups: Viscosity Decreasing Agents; Viscosity Increasing Agents - Aqueous; and Viscosity Increasing Agents - Nonaqueous. |
